 Instructions for CamStudio

  1. Download and install CamStudio software (do not re-boot computer)

  2. Open the application you want to record for example a note pad

  3. prepare the scene.

  4. Open CamStudio set "region" to full screen. Region is one of the menu options.

  5. Click record, which is the round red button. After clicking on record, the entire computer screen and everything that happens on it will be recorded until the recording is manually stopped.

  6. Do the steps you want to record

  7. After show is done, go to CamStudio click stop (the blue square icon on CamStudio menu bar).

  8. Save movie (avi format). When saving the movie be sure to name it and save it in my documents.

  9. Open Video Editor (Windows 10) . Instead of importing pictures, as we did last class session, this time click on import video. In Video Editor you will trim parts of the video at the beginning and at the end 

  10. Click on "new video project." name your project "Project 1"

  11. Click button Add and browse to your video file click on " Add to Story Board" 

  12. Now you will "trim" the movie.  To trim the movie:

    • Use the playback controls on the monitor (in the timeline) to go to the point where you want to trim the clip.

    • Do the following:
      • When the playback indicator is at the point where you want the selected video or audio clip to start playing back, on the Clip menu, click Set Start Trim Point.
      • When the playback indicator is at the point where you want the selected video or audio clip to stop playing back, on the Clip menu, click Set End Trim Point.

  13. Save movie and reduce the file size to 15 MB and upload to your TaskStream web page along with your other video.
